A Day at the Lake

“A day at the lake is a day well spent.”

This is one of my favorite quotes. Actually, I am not sure if it even is a quote, but in the summer I live by this motto.

No matter what kind of day it is or what the day entails, a day at the lake is never one that I regret.

What is more fun than spending the day with friends splashing and speeding around on jetskis? What is more relaxing than sitting on the end of the dock watching a sunset? What is more refreshing on a hot day than jumping carefree off the boat into the middle of the lake? What is more enjoyable than anchoring with other family and friends, enjoying cold beverages and tossing around a football or Frisbee? What is more fun than waking up early to waterski on flat water with no other boats around? What is a better way to bond with your dad than to stand on the end of the dock and fish all day? What is more fun than being whipped around the lake on a tube with friends on a choppy day hanging on for dear life? What is a better workout than a long swim or kayak excursion? What is more fun than a backyard barbeque after a day on the water? What is more fun that sitting around a bonfire cooking s’mores with family and friends right on the shore of the lake? What is more beautiful than looking up at the night sky seeing billions and billions of stars and the moon reflecting off of the water? What is more relaxing than falling asleep to the sound of the waves gently hitting the shoreline?

Personally I think that all of these things are hard to beat, and I am missing summer just a little bit. But, before we know it summer will be back again.

I promise you it wont be hard, but make sure your day at the lake is a day well spent.
